ants have overtaken my desk...i freaked out and went on a 2 hour cleaning spree at my office last night....guess i wont eat lunch at my desk anymore...i swore i had ants in my hair...

it's been 105+ here all week and doesn't look like it will cool down anytime soon...people have been getting heat stroke and such....so i've been loading up on water and salt (someone told me that if you don't eat salt...the water does no good)...so i snack on sunflower seeds all day...yes...at my desk...i try not to drop a crumb for those nasty ants...

tony and i have been renting a lot of movies lately...among my fave rentals this month:
-Hotel Rwanda
-Hide & Seek
-Million Dollar Baby

Hated: -Spanglish...probably cause it was so hyped up...i was disappointed...and i have never seen such a cheesy scene as the "convertable scene" with the hair blowing...somebody's got to know what i'm talking about....

-Rented again -Mystic River...i have now seen it 3 times...still love it...a distrubinly good portrayal of 3 lives...

in other news...after many weeks of being lazy..i'm back on the workout scene...it took me a while to get back to the gym after the honeymoon...but mama's back

i'm getting lazy at this blogging thing...i know...

so let me bring you up to speed on what's been happening in July...

we decided to take a spontaneous road trip for the 4th...we left Sunday after church...ended up at the coast...ate some clam chowder...but the 75 degree weather proved to be "chilly" for us triple digit folks from bakersfield...so we took off and headed down the coast to warmer locations....we spent the night in ventura and a nasty best western that succeeded in selling us a room at a ridiculously high price since there was all sorts of festivals going on...we were suckers and spent money on a disgusting smoking room that didn't even have complimentary shampoo....
on the 4th we woke up and drove down to venice beach...our forever favorite beach locale....we enjoyed the sun...and the surf...
after getting used to the initial numbness the cold water brings to you...we rode some waves on our boogie board....well, until the waves bent my board in half....and by "my" board...i mean scott's board (which he doesn't know i took...guess he knows now)...sorry, your board is in a trash can on venice beach...
i road the best wave of my life..but it made me sream and then took me under...smashing my board on the bottom and scraping my knees on the sand below...
that did it for me...time for napping on the beach..
we both fell asleep and i woke up freezing...time to go home...sunburn and all...

couple highlights of the trip:

when we arrived at the first beach i got out of the car and noticed it looked like i crapped my pants (or skirt i should say)...apparently when your car doesn't have air, and you sweat...anything that was ever spilled on the seat in the past 10 years comes to the surface and stains whatever clothing you are wearing...nice

we went to a "chigaco ribs" place and noticed many "non-chicago" things on the menu... and the portions were way too small to be from the midwest....

we saw no fireworks...but from what I heard...we didn't miss much...they don't do it up out here like they do in the midwest...not to mention, "streator's 4th america's best"....

o, but we did go to Outback and enjoy a festive 4th of july meal of steak...and we tried to get another 'bloomin onion by telling our waitress someone ate off ours...but i guess it was obvious that that "someone" was us....

the end

catch you in august...sike!!
