i'm so glad yesterday i over!!!
I definitely had a case of the Mondays yesterday. Generally i always hate mondays...and actually i heard a statistic once that most ministry peeps quit on mondays....it's the day after your biggest ministry day, and you are just drained in every way possible.....
well, this monday should have been a happy happy day..it was actually mine and tony's one year anniversary of being together....pretty big stuff......but we actually didn't see each other at all.....
tony got a job...which is awesome..but he works his bootie off all the time....'that's my hard working man'
anyway, back to my monday.....let me preface it by saying that tony and i had spent sunday night looking at our finances....never a good thing to look at when you want to plan a wedding that you can't afford...so that already put me in a general sad mood Sunday night...and by that...i mean i cried a lot.....(i realize i'm just a sensative female...i just want a wedding soon and it sucks when it's going to be further away than what you want)......anyway...so monday i wake up and started my day as usual....a little bummed i was working and had a lot to do....
our vbs for church is all week this week in the evening and i'm doing the worship for the kids all week..so i had to do a lot running around picking up amps, mics...etc......
well i was driving in my car and the oldest man in the world pulled out in front of me......i was going about 50 (in a 45)..i was i the left lane and he made a right turn from a side street and instead turning into the logical closest lane to him..he pulled out in mine.....so i slammed on my breaks...swirved to miss him, and of course honked my horn......my tires squeeled so back they made smoke, i hit the curb...but....thankfully missed him......and the crazy thing is... old balls has no idead any of this went down...he must not have even had his hearing aid on cause he didn't even hear my 10 second honking........
let me get to the point of the story: i had already been needing to take my car in to get the breaks checked and had been putting it off....but this little incident was enough to scare me into taking it in......
i took my car in and it needed $1300 worth of work done....holy crap.....but blessing of course, the shop owner, my bro's boss, who goes to our church...cut the cost in half for me....so i only owe $640.....of course though..i cried all day....cause this just added to the stress of financial planning......
scott drove me around all day yesterday in the work truck and i went back to work, awaiting my car to be fixed......
ok..i just realized this story is getting way too long...so let me speed it up.....
hours later and borrowing cars along the way i made it to VBS with 20 min to spare......and those kids made my day all better....
the end....
couple things i'm thankful for from my past 2 days:
tony and the past year of my life
the fact that i just got car insurance after illegally not having it on my car for a while (even though i didn't need it yesterday)
tony and scott for reassuring me everything is going to be ok
ken, who knows how poor i am and dropped half the cost of my car repairs and is allowing me to pay on an account over months if i need it
the vbs kids who made me forget about my horrible day and danced around the yard singing the happy song with me.....
"i could sing unending songs of how you saved my soul, i could dance 1000 miles because of your great love..."
